Why did you decide to become a dental professional?
I chose the dental profession because of my passion for helping others and giving back to my community, growing up in a underserved community I didn't have equitable access to health and dental care. Thus, these passions drove me to acquire skills and knowledge that would allow me to heal, repair, and restore a person’s oral health. But a dentist is more than just fixing teeth. A successful dentist treats the whole person and is mindful of a patient’s needs, so that when a patient sits in the dental chair, he or she feels important, valued, and cared for. I know by improving a patient’s oral health, I can also improve and positively impact the overall health and lives of my patients. Making a difference one patient at time.
Where did you attend school?
Loyola Marymount University - Undergraduate \ UCLA School of Dentistry - D.D.S.
Tell us about your residency and any continuing education?
I did a residency in Hospital Dentistry at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center's General Practice Residency Program, where I improved my clinical and dental skills and knowledge needed to help medically complex patients that have little to no access to comprehensive dental care. I am also taking continuing education courses to enhance my knowledge in dental implantology and cosmetic dentistry.
What do you find most motivating about the dental profession?
I love how dentistry has a perfect mix of science and art by using the latest technology to design and create the perfect smile for my patients. Overall, this allows me the ability to make a positive impact in my patient's lives both dentally and holistically.
What's your favorite way to spend your time away from work?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, creating artwork, cycling, going to music festivals, traveling, going on dental mission trips, working out at the gym, training with my 3 dogs and learning new languages. I also enjoy going to sport events to root for my LA teams - Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Rams!!!
What would you like to tell your patients?
I want my patients to feel that they are being cared for in their dental home. I want to be approachable and available to patients for whatever and whenever they are seeking dental help.
